For those wishing to extend MicroGDS or integrate it with other applications, a programming interface is
available for use with standard Windows® development environments such as Visual Basic, Visual C++ and Java.
The interface supports .NET.
MicroGDS drawings can be saved and accessed in XML format, and industry standard
formats such as DWG and DXF are also fully supported.
All supplied menus can be reconfigured, and you can generate your own line and character styles, 3D materials,
and symbol libraries or modify those supplied with MicroGDS.
Because MicroGDS is fully integrated with Windows, many customisations do not need to be written! In
many cases you can simply use existing applications - such as Excel - and let Windows look after the data
sharing or copying. As well as supporting cut, paste, and hot links, MicroGDS also supports Windows MDI,
allowing you to open multiple projects simultaneously and compare and copy between them.
