Can anyone help? I have to create a 3d animation but don't want to use 3d polygon trees for the outlying parts of the model. I have seen sketchup trees which are based 2 or 3 image files arranged in a cross pattern, which gives a reasonable impression of a tree from a distance. I assume this reduces the render time. Reduces the model size and is much less inclined to crash part way through a render.

The but is... I can’t replicate this in MicroGDS I have applied a PNG file (with transparent background) but it renders as opaque unless I put it onto a glass material which works, but reflects the surrounding model. I have reduced the mirror factor to 0 but it still doesn’t work What am I doing wrong?
I have tried downloading a Sketchup tree but this renders as opaque with no image
